FELIX ORAM
Felix Oram creates music-led movement spaces where attention, embodiment, and dance are held with care. He is a conscious movement facilitator, DJ (FX10K), and founder of the Temenos Dance Collective.
He began DJing at 15, drawn to the transformative pull of dance floors and the connective intensity of early rave culture. Over decades of work across clubs, labels, and studios, Felix developed a musical sensibility shaped by groove, emotional attunement, and an instinct for how sound moves bodies collectively.
In 2007, he stepped away from music to focus on personal wellbeing. During this period, he encountered Vipassana meditation and dedicated over 1,000 hours to the practice. This training in sustained attention continues to inform how he works with sound, silence, pacing, and space.
In 2013, Felix discovered conscious movement practices, including 5Rhythms. Years of dancing and crewing deepened his understanding of how music and movement interact — not as performance, but as a field for presence, regulation, and connection. This long, lived relationship with dance shaped a facilitation style that prioritises listening: to the body, to the room, and to what is emerging collectively.
In the autumn of 2023, these threads came together as the Temenos Dance Collective. Temenos was born from a desire to offer dance spaces where music is curated with discernment, transitions are intentional, and participants are supported to move with curiosity rather than expectation. The emphasis is not on peak experience, but on coherence, safety, and depth over time.
Felix’s facilitation is grounded, spacious, and responsive. Drawing from meditation, somatic practice, and decades of musical experience, he holds containers that invite dancers to arrive fully, track their own experience, and engage with others without force or performance.
Through Temenos, Felix offers spaces that are alive and relational — places to listen closely, move honestly, and let the body lead.
